The green summer 2004 is the fourth consecutive year that Ho Chi Minh City’s Youth Union, Youth League and Students’ Association have carried out works relating to their training fields. They have built rural bridges, transfer agricultural techniques. The campaign has attracted a great deal of volunteers, including excellent students.
Seven groups of teams have been set up with the participation of over 2,000 students, Youth Union members, young people operating in different fields. Young volunteers from Ben Thanh Trading Company, Industry Service, Lawyers’ Association have joined activities in the service of the community. In addition, a series of scientific researches registered by students have been carried out. These include those for spreading disease control, environmental protection, etc.
In fact, the works have been done with higher results. Among the 80 specialing teams, the team in charge of dissemination of information on adolescent reproductive health care is a new model. Many young people have been very surprised when the members of the team fluently spoke about these sensitive issues of life.
After ten days of the campaign, nearly 10,000 people, most of them are young people, in 11 wards and communes have been given information relating to HIV/AIDS control, basic knowledge on reproductive health care.
With their enthusiastic and dynamic characters, dozens of students have applied their knowledge to carry out works, thus making contributions to young volunteer people’s campaign and leaving behind good impressions.
