The Association of Vietnam Farmers (VFA) will hold its fourth national congress from November 22-25, VFA President Nguyen Duc Trieu told reporters on Friday.
The congress will review the achievements and failures of the VFA in the 1998-2003 term and set goals and tasks for the next five years. VFA goals include developing rural areas and accelerating the national industrialisation process, Mr Trieu said.
He added that the congress would be attended by 860 delegates, an all-time-high, as well as representatives from 22 associations foreign farmers, embassies, international non-governmental organisations and 10 foreign news agencies in Vietnam.
