Viet Nam Farmer's Association of which the initial name was Red Peasants' Association was established on 14th October, 1930. For revolutionary periods, the Association has been faithful to the Party and the nation. Throughout the glorious historical stage, under the leadership of the Party, Viet Nam Farmer's Association has been a core force in revolutionary movements of peasants, made great human and material contributions to the cause of struggles for national liberation, country reunion; helped the peasant class to escape from the oppression and exploitation, made important contributions to the country construction and protection.
The purposes of the Association are to gather, unite peasants, build the peasant class to become strong in every aspect, be worthy of being the major force for implementing the agricultural and rural industrialization, modernization.
When the Vietnamese revolution transits to a new period, Viet Nam Farmer's Association continues to renovate contents, methods of its operations, build its organizations strongly, implement core roles in socio-economic development movements of peasants in rural areas; to take care of the material and spiritual life of its members, peasants; to develop the patriotism, the love for the socialism, revolutionary spirit and creative labor of peasants, industry and thrift, self-reliance for self-improvement and international cooperation; to improve the alliance among workers, peasants and intellectuals to make it become the base for the great national united bloc for economic development, building new rural areas, making contributions to reach the targets of rich people, strong country, equal and civilized society under the socialism orientations.
