The International Development Association under the World Bank (IDA/WB) has provided 210.5 billion VND (13.5 million USD) to the central province of Quang Ngai as a soft loan to conduct a rural energy project.
The project with an investment capital of 255.4 billion VND (16.4 million USD) will be carried out in 72 communes of 6 districts in the province.
Under the project, 126 km of electrical lines will be upgraded, another 1,357 km will be pulled and 158,664 watt meters will be replaced by new ones in order to reduce electricity losses and cut electricity prices to below 700 VND/kWh. The project is scheduled for completion by 2008
