The General Consulate of Singapore offered scholarships to seven students in Ho Chi Minh City into some leading universities in this country Wednesday.
Students will get higher education for three or four years at the National University of Singapore, the Nanyang Technological University and the Singapore Management University.
The Singaporean Government will also provide tuition fees, return tickets, and yearly expenses for the students to follow the training course scheduled for July, 2006.
Previously, the Singaporean Ambassador to Viet Nam gave grants to eight other students in the capital city of Ha Noi, following the initiative, effective in 1999, made by the former Singaporean Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong to provide higher education for the youth of ASEAN nations.
So far, up to 117 Vietnamese students have received scholarships to study in the Singapore, majoring in business administration, economics, computer science, information technology, electricity and electronic technology.
