The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, the National University of Singapore, and the Standard Chartered Bank on July 3 granted US$350,000 in scholarships to nine Vietnamese learners to help them pursue their courses of Master of Public Policy (MPP) and Master of Public Administration (MPA) from July.
The Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy has so far received 53 Vietnamese who "have been considered amongst the best and most committed students", said Stavros Yiannouka, Vice Dean for Executive Education and Development of the school at the award ceremony held in Hanoi.
He expressed hope to receive more students from Vietnam in the future.
Addressing the ceremony, Singaporean Ambassador to Vietnam Lim Thuan Kuan noted that education is one of the six pillars of the Connectivity Agreement, signed by Singapore and Vietnam in December 2005 to connect the two economies for mutual benefits.
He believed that the learners will be able to further contribute to Vietnam’s development.
