Securities Commission eyes expanding stock market

The total value of the bourse will reach nearly VND 40,000 trillion (US $2.5 billion) this year, including VND 4.8 trillion worth of shares and investment fund transactions and VND 35 trillion in Government and provincial bond and transactions, the State Securities Commission (SSC) reported.

New OTC trading floor to be launched

The Asia Commercial Bank Securities Company (ACBS) is set to launch a new over-the-counter (OTC) trading floor, which will become a transaction centre for unlisted shares.

Vietincombank to replace magnetic cards with chip cards

On December 20, Industrial and Commercial Bank (ICB) announced that in 2006 it would convert magnetic cards into chip-based cards for more than 202,000 card-holders.
