Viet Nam pushes for State-owned enterprises restructuring

The Communist Party of Viet Nam's Political Bureau has called for urgent renewal of State-owned enterprises (SoEs), saying it is a top priority in 2004-05.

ADB loan to help small businesses

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a loan package of US$100 million that will help create a more favourable business environment to support the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Viet Nam. ADB’s first policy loan in Viet Nam is designed to promote an enabling environment for the SME sector.

Top concerns of the businesses

Land clearance, tax and customs procedures were among the top concerns of the businesses. Despite recent improvements in land policies, as well as the regular review of tax and customs procedures and fees, businesses still face many problems and suggested more radical changes by the government.
