Viet Nam hits eight-year FDI growth record

Viet Nam attracted foreign direct investment (FDI) of 5.8 billion USD in 2005, a record high for the past eight years, said the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).

FDI exceeds year target by 29%

Statistical data released by the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI) show FDI attraction was going to exceed target this year. $5.8 billion of registered FDI capital would be lured by the end of 2005, 25% up over 2004, of which newly-licenced capital was $4 billion and additional capital of existing projects was $1.8 billion.
