Vietnam to open up its retail market to foreign businesses

Vietnam is under regional and bilateral commitment to open up its retail market to foreign businesses. Malaysia-based Parkson Corporation has been lobbying hard for a license to operate a retail chain in Vietnam, local sources reported.

Prime Minister Phan Van Khai has signed an Official Letter No.1007/CP-KTTH to assign the Ministry of Finance to coordinate with the relating agencies to publicize the invitation of comments from the Ministries, central agencies, localities, organizations, unions and peoples’ classes on the contents of the decision draft of the Prime Minister on the regulations on financial publicization of the Ministries, industries for the State budget-funded capital.
