Thua Thien-Hue: Farmer’s association helps over 1,900 households escape poverty

Taking their cue from the Vietnam Farmer’s Association, Thua Thien - Hue provincial farmer’s association has actively encouraged area farmers to adapt their crops and livestock to the demands of the market. The provincial association has also been organizing training courses, exchanging experiences and building more effective models.

UNICEF officials honoured for efforts to assist Vietnamese women

The Deputy Representative of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and a co-ordinator of the UNICEF education programme have been presented with the "For the cause of Vietnamese women's development " insignia for their efforts to assist Vietnamese women.

Centre actively contributes to HIV/AIDS prevention

Since the first HIV carrier was found in Ho Chi Minh City in 1990, Vietnam has confirmed 260,000 HIV-positive cases. In addition to government efforts, non-government organisations in Vietnam are working hard to fight the disease.
