Northern mountainous region strives to reduce poverty

The northern mountainous region set a goal of reducing its poverty rate by 2.5-3% annually between 2006 and 2010 at a Government-hosted conference discussing measures to boost the region's socio-economic development, held in Hanoi on March 30.
