A document on cooperation in building and developing an economic corridor between four Vietnamese cities and provinces and China's Yunnan province was signed in Ha Noi on Friday.
The Vietnamese partners include Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, and Lao Cai
At a meeting in Ha Noi on Friday, the two sides discussed cooperation to develop bilateral trade, fight trade frauds, prohibited and fraudulent goods, build trade centres and super markets as well as international tourist routes. They also discussed how to improve the transport services on roads and railways linking Yunnan-Lao Cai-Ha Noi-Hai Phong, and how to increase information exchanges and investment promotion.
Leaders of the relevant provinces and cities agreed to simplify the import-export procedures and create good conditions for their residents to travel. They will ask their governments to permit trucks from Viet Nam and Yunnan province to carry goods through the economic corridor.
For fast and accurate payment among businesses, it is proposed to use LCs and local currencies in payment.
Addressing the conference, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said economic and trade cooperation through economic corridors should be developed, paving the way for multilateral cooperation among Viet Nam, China and other regional countries
