Viet Nam's investment environment in the context of regional and international economic integration and its policies to attract foreign investment will be introduced at an international workshop to be held in Ha Noi on Aug. 17-18.
The workshop will be organised by the Ministry of Planning and Investment and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Viet Nam, and Singapore's Keppel Corp.
Prime Minister Phan Van Khai planned to address the 500-participant workshop, speaking on the prospects for Viet Nam's economy and the country's policy to cooperate with foreign investors.
Topics to be discussed will include ways towards a level playing field and ASEAN member countries' experiences in manufacturing industry; real estate, construction, hotel industry; healthcare and education services; and logistic services in aviation, information technology and trade.
The workshop is seen as a follow-up activity to materialise an initiative of Prime Minister Phan Van Khai and the then Singaporean Prime Minister Goh Chok Tong in the former's visit to Singapore last March. The initiative aims to promote the two economies' cooperation, including investment.
