In just four years, the Enterprise Law has helped attract an estimated 9.5 billion USD from domestic investors, a four-fold increase over the amount made in the last decade. The figure outnumbered foreign investments, reported the Ministry of Planning and Investment.
Over 71,500 domestic businesses registered for operation from early 2000 to July this year, representing a 1.6 percent increase over the 1991-99 period, the ministry reported.
The four-year old law has encouraged some 800,000 families to register for opening businesses, bringing the total number of such businesses to over 2.5 million so far.
As a result, the amount of investment from non-State businesses operating under the Enterpirse Law has made up 27 percent of the gross investments so far this year against 20 percent in 2000.
The report was prepared by the Ministry of Planning and Investment to be read at a meeting to review four years of implementing the Enterprise Law scheduled for Monday.
