The price of gold increased sharply in the domestic market on Thursday as a result of a rising world price, market watchers said.
In Ha Noi, the buying and selling prices of pure gold increased by VND100,000 per tael from two weeks ago to VND7.8 million per tael and VND7.88 million per tael, respectively, at the Gold, Silver and Gemstone Company under the Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development.
In Ho Chi Minh City, the Saigon Jewellery Company (SJC)’s gold price rose to VND 7.85 million per tael on Wednesday morning, and continued going up to each VND7.87 million per tael in the afternoon of the same day.
The price of SJC gold was also reported at VND7.87 million per tael and VND7.88 million per tael in the Mekong delta city of Can Tho and the central coastal city of Da Nang.
