The Techmart VN 2003 - a trade fair on technology and equipment was opened on October 14, 2003. Immediately on the opening date, a contract of U$19 million on technology transfer to build container ship with high tech was signed between the Ha Long Shipyard and Bien Dong (East Sea) shipping company.
According to organizers of the fair, on the first day of the fair, the organizing committee has received 300 contracts for buying technology and equipment with total amount of VND700 billion.
This is first time the Techmart is held in Vietnam with participants of 300 enterprises and 2,000 technologies and equipment to be introduced.
