The Sapa Cloud Festival will run from April 28 to May 3 in Lao Cai province, featuring traditional cultural and sporting activities of ethnic minority groups.
The event will begin with a culinary fair, followed by a photo exhibition and the Sapa flower and ornamental tree show.
At the festival, visitors will have the chance to view photos of Sapa from the past and present, as well as sniffing the various species of flowers of the Hoang Lien national park.
The Sapa night love market will offer romance in central park, and will feature traditional cultural activities such as Giay and Dao minority love duets, Hmong wife catching, and the night bride welcoming ceremony of the Giay people.
The focal point of the festival will be held at the Ham Rong tourist site where five ethnic groups, Hmong, Dao, Tay, Giay, and Xa Pho will perform traditional ballads and play traditional sports as well as present their unique cuisine specialties and cooking utensils.
The Lao Cai Department of Trade and Tourism will organize a tourism, fashion and gift fair at the Sapa stadium, featuring around 130 stalls exhibiting textiles, garments and costumes of ethnic groups, as well as other tourism products.
