Although the Hue Festival 2006 will take place in more than two months’ time, the organising board is pushing up its preparation for the event. Mr Ngo Ha, head of the organising board, said to Labour Newspaper about the upcoming festival.
“The Festival 2006 will continue to attract typical art programmes of all the regions of Vietnam and other countries in the world. In particular, the festival will draw the participation of some countries and some cultures that have not joined previous festivals.”
“The organising board believes that the festival has to be in constant improvement and the quality of organising the event to be further professionalised.”.
“This year, we will renovate ways of organising activities and restore some traditional ceremonies such as the Heaven-worshipping ceremony, the royal palace night, and returning home to pay thanks to ancestors after achieving academic honours. As far as tourism activities are concerned, the festival will feature sports tours, Tam Giang lagoon tour, and a Ho Chi Minh Trail tour.”
At present, we are actively focusing on decorating the urban areas and completing the construction and improvements of sites for the festival, for example, improving some roads and gates of the citadel and historical relics in the ancient city.
The festival will coincide with the 700th anniversary of Thuan Hoa - Phu Xuan - Thua Thien Hue due to be held with the participation of leading historians and researchers from the city. The construction of Huyen Tran Cultural Centre is being speeded up.
In the upcoming festival, we will create favourable conditions for individuals and organisations to join efforts in organising the event, especially in area of services.
We are trying our best to improve the quality of existing tours and design new tours to attract domestic and international tourists to the ancient city of Hue, the world heritage site.
