New Khmer language TV channel launched

The Vietnam Television branch in southern Can Tho province launched a new TV channel in Khmer language (CVTV2) on Wednesday to serve 1.7 million ethnic Khmer people in the Mekong Delta, Ho Chi Minh City and a number of southeastern provinces.

The government invested more than VND 30 billion to build a 30 KW broadcast station and a 180-metre antennae, the highest in the Mekong Delta, for the project.

The CVTV2 is on air from 11 hr to 13hr and 17hr to 19hr a day on the UHF frequency.
