History of Embroidery

When did our embroidery begin? Who converted dressmaking and embroidery into an art?

It is told that Vietnamese embroidery workers regarded Le Cong Hanh, born in the 17th century, as the creator of embroidering.

He combined the Chinese embroidery with that of Vietnam to create a new, artistic technique.

Following his step, the devoted embroidery workers used the western colorful threads to support their natural materials.

In the early 20th century, Vietnamese embroidery was sublimated with the embroidery masterpieces that were highly appreciated by the members of royal blood in Nguyen Dynasty in Hue capital.

Since then, embroidery became women's career due to their industrious and patient characters, and their creation was set free for the artistic, long-live masterpieces.
