Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF), Professor and Doctor Klaus Schwab, yesterday met and talked to students of National University HCM City about their role for the future.

Many districts in HCM City have helped students who failed to get admission to tenth-grade classes in public senior high schools continue their education at vocational schools.

Japanese-language classes have grown in popularity at HCM City schools since they were piloted nationally six years ago at junior high schools.

As many as 14 vocational schools and colleges have received training quality standard certificates for 2009 from the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs’ Vocational Training General Department.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development is proposing that the Government give students in forestry and agriculture major exemptions from tuition fees to minimise the shortage of highly-qualified manpower in these fields.

Thirty five advanced university training curriculums will be provided at 20 universities nationwide in 2010, according to the deputy director of the Ministry of Education and Training s University Education Department Nguyen Thi Le Huong.
